Riparazione scheda Karate Champ (bootleg) - Karatè 2 non Jamma standard

 Da un po' di tempo ho ricominciato a cercare schede dei giochi che trovavo nei bar o nelle sale che frequentavo, deciso a cercare di collezionare quei titoli che ho amato negli anni passati.

Mi è capitata questa scheda di Karate Champ in versione bootleg ovviamente, ad un prezzo che ho reputato essere abbordabile, un solo "problemino", viene venduta con audio non funzionante e senza connettore (che non è jamma standard).

Non mi faccio spaventare e decido di prenderla lo stesso.

Dopo qualche ricerca, ho trovato info inerenti la riparazione di una scheda uguale, con l'audio mancante. La riparazione prevede la sostituzione di una eeprom, il che mi preoccupa visto che non ho un programmatore al momento, vedremo.

Nell'attesa ho continuato a cercare info sulla scheda e mi è capitata un'altra board ma alla metà del prezzo di quanto ho pagato l'altra, non è però testata, venduta quindi come non funzionante ma (cosa quasi fondamentale), con il connettore che, dopo qualche scambio di email con il venditore, sono riuscito a far includere nel caso di acquisto. Il costo del solo connettore sarebbe superiore e dovrei preparare tutti i cavi etc. quindi mi conviene).

Ovviamente, ho preso pure questa che esteticamente sta messa meglio anche se non è testata (in genere equivale a rotta) ma vedremo.

Ad una prima occhiata, noto che qualche differenza c'è ma non mi spavento. Spero alla fine di riuscire a tirar fuori una scheda funzionante dalle 2.

From this release i am trying to compile an alternative version that include the source of the Arcade by Robbbert (based othe old mamefx), a patch from haynor666 that include other mamefx fixes and other implementations, a cv1k patch and obviously the groovy patch, i think this is the most complete build to use in an arcade cab.

You can try the "hf" version, the groovymame source with haynor666+cv1k+nonag patch applyed or the "hfx" version the Arcade source with all the patch applyed.

If I have positive feedback I could continue to compile only this version which includes all the optimizations.

 Nelle versioni compilate da me e postate qualche giorno fa, non ho capito come ma mancavano le slider per frame delay, ho ricompilato (e testato) intanto la versione windows, a breve spero di poter sostituire anche quella linux.

Le trovate nei soliti posti.

Ri-abilitare giochi Cave eliminati da mame 0.240 in poi

Questa mini guida va ad aggiungersi a quella per compilare la propria versione di mame, pubblicata qualche tempo fa.

Alcuni appassionati dei giochi Cave si saranno sicuramente accorti dell' "eliminazione" di due titoli nelle ultime versioni di mame, beh per abilitarli di nuovo la procedura è abbastanza semplice.

Basterà semplicemente editare i file relativi al driver e togliere i commenti dai titoli interessati, occorre poi modificare il file della lista per far riconoscere a mame il nome delle roms, sempre togliendo i commenti alle rispettive linee.

Vediamo praticamente su cosa dobbiamo agire.

Prendiamo il sorgente mame e spostiamoci nella cartella /scr/mame/drivers

cerchiamo il file cv1k.cpp ed apriamolo con notepad++ ad esempio (io uso quello si win)

andiamo alla linea 900 circa e vedremo che le linee relative ai giochi interessati sono commentate con 2 //

non dobbiamo fare altro che cancellare il commento, quindi

ora andiamo alla linea 1049 e facciamo la stessa cosa

ora spostiamoci in /src/mame

cerchiamo il file mame.lst ed apriamo anche lui con notepad++

spostiamoci alla linea 11656 ed aggiungiamo di nuovo i giochi rimossi, scrivendo le due linee sotto

 Completato lo spostamento della BBS e cambiato software, dovrete necessariamente effettuare una nuova iscrizione per accedere a tutti i contenuti che continueranno ad essere aggiornati.

Sarà possibile accedere via browser con un terminale emulato in prova, se vedo che va, lo lascio in maniera permanente, l'area file è accessibile anche tramite ftp ma ricordate che la banda è limitata, se volete scaricare un sacco di materiale usate il canale telegram che è più veloce e meglio organizzato per queste cose.

Vi aspetto su sixthfloor.ddns.net e ricordate di segnalare qualunque tipo di problema o richiesta.

Aggiornamento server Minecraft Java Edition alla 1.18.1

Qualche tempo fa vi avevo parlato di come creare un server per Minecraft Java su linux, oggi vi scriverò due righe per vedere come si aggiorna e quali requisiti ci sono.

Con l'aggiornamento dei client è necessario aggiornare anche la versione del server per poter permettere la connessione, la cosa è relativamente semplice, vediamo quali sono i passaggi da compiere.

Nello specifico aggiornerò alla 1.18.1 che richiede java 1.17 installato nel nostro server.

Procediamo ad installare la nuova versione di java 

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

importiamo il PPA digitando

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linuxuprising/java -y

aggiorniamo di nuovo

sudo apt update

ora installiamo ed impostiamo come default java 17

sudo apt-get install oracle-java17-installer oracle-java17-set-default

dovremo dare conferma di voler continuare (come di consueto) ed accettare i termini di Oracle

alla fine dell'installazione digitiamo

java -version

per verificare che la versione impostata sia effettivamente quella da noi scelta

A questo punto non ci resta che fermare il servizio (se non lo avete fatto prima) 

sudo systemctl stop minecraftserver.service

scaricare il file del server sempre da quì e sostituirlo in /opt/minecraft/survival

rinominandolo esattamente come fatto per l'installazione originale.

Attenzione a loggarvi con l'utente creato la volta scorsa o non avrete i diritti per sostituire il file.

ora non ci resta che riavviare il servizio

sudo systemctl start minecraftserver.service

e far collegare di nuovo gli amici!

Nel caso vogliate disinstallare questa versione di java (per motivi che ignoro) non dovrete far altro che digitare quanto segue

sudo apt autoremove oracle-java17-installer oracle-java17-set-default --purge

date conferma e procedete con la disinstallazione.
